Strand Ready for the 115th Swimming Season
Novi Sad – The Danube bank has one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in this part of Europe – in Novi Sad, known as Štrand, where the 115th swimming season officially begins in early May. It was created by the river moving sand from the opposite bank, to a place where there was a willow tree that was easily accessible, and over time it was arranged and expanded, so that nowadays in the summer months, tens of thousands of people daily find respite from the heat here and cool off in the Danube.
