If you plan a trip for May Day holidays, pay attention: Danger lurks from the grass, these are the first symptoms of a serious infection
If you notice a tick on your skin, consult a doctor to remove it as soon as possible and do not try to do it yourself, warned Dr. Svetlana Mićić from the Health Center 'Savski venac'.

TL;DR
- Ticks are dangerous parasites found in wooded areas, vegetation, and tall, unmaintained grass, active from spring to autumn.
- Their bite is painless, but they can transmit Lyme disease if infected.
- After returning from nature, perform a self-examination, shower, and wash clothes.
- Preventive measures include wearing long-sleeved shirts, long pants, closed shoes, socks, and hats.
- If a tick is found, do not remove it yourself; seek professional help from a healthcare facility within 24-36 hours.
- Do not apply substances like oil, alcohol, or acetone to the tick.
- An extracted tick can be sent for analysis to check for infection.
- Monitor for symptoms, especially a circular rash larger than 5 cm in diameter, and consult a doctor if it appears.
- Do not take antibiotics preventively or without a doctor's examination.
