TL;DR
- Minister of Education Dejan Vuk Stanković proposed shortening school classes to 30 minutes due to students' shorter attention spans.
- Teachers argue that 30-minute classes are insufficient for covering the curriculum, conducting activities, and assessing student knowledge.
- The proposal could lead to teachers losing their jobs or becoming technologically redundant due to reduced teaching hours.
- Some teachers believe the proposal might be an attempt to address teacher shortages.
- The practicality of assessing students, especially through essays, would be compromised with shorter classes.
- Concerns exist that the first and last five minutes of a 30-minute class would be lost to introductions and conclusions, leaving only 20 minutes for actual content.
