RTS Gets a Female Signature
There are positions that resemble chairs in a studio – always ready for the next guest, but rarely for someone who will change the scenery. The position of Director General of Radio Television of Serbia has long been just such a chair: stable, but somewhat trapped in its own routine. When Manja Grčić sat in it on February 11th this year, the scene, at least symbolically, changed.
TL;DR
- Manja Grčić is the first woman to be appointed Director General of Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).
- She brings over two decades of experience in the media industry, including roles at BBC, B92, Fox Television, TV3 Slovenia, and Antenna Group.
- Grčić also co-founded "Minakord media" system, which includes TV K1 and the Tanjug news agency.
- Her leadership is expected to bring new energy and a change of rhythm to RTS, which has been described as operating on a predictable routine.
- Despite criticisms suggesting political influence in her appointment, her track record in the commercial media industry suggests a capacity for effective management and results.
