Др Јовановић: Улазимо у фазу интензивнијег заражавања сезонским грипом

TL;DR

  • Health centers in Serbia are observing a high number of respiratory infections, mostly resembling seasonal flu.
  • Children of preschool and school age are the most affected by seasonal flu.
  • The flu virus spreads quickly within families, communities, and schools, with the youngest children (0-4 years) being the most infected.
  • The flu virus was confirmed four weeks earlier this year in Serbia compared to the previous season.
  • An increased presence of a modified Type A virus has been observed, which is a regular occurrence due to continuous viral genome changes.
  • Preventive measures against respiratory viruses, such as avoiding close contact like kissing and hugging, are advised.
  • Individuals experiencing symptoms like fever, runny nose, or mild cough should stay home.
  • Vaccination against seasonal flu is strongly recommended, especially for those with existing health issues.
  • Approximately 200,000 citizens have been vaccinated so far, and there are sufficient vaccines available.
