In the early morning hours of April 9, 2013, the village of Velika Ivanča was written into history as the site of one of the most horrific mass murders in modern Serbia. Between 5 and 5:30 AM, Ljubiša Bogdanović killed thirteen people in five neighboring households. Most villagers were asleep at the time, including Danica and her daughter-in-law Dragana Stekić.
