We live in a time of non-readers
An experienced writer friend told me about a test he conducted. He gave five acquaintances, all teachers, a copy of his latest book. On each, he wrote a dedication and added a mobile phone number below his signature. He asked them to share their impressions after reading. He noted their phone numbers for himself. Two months passed, and no one contacted him. He then called each of them to ask about their progress with reading. He was saddened to learn that no one had even started reading.
