Google doesn't offer you the best version of YouTube, here's how to actually unlock it
You open YouTube to watch one video, and half an hour later, you realize you're still watching something that didn't interest you at all. If this scenario is familiar, there's a free browser add-on that can make YouTube significantly simpler and less tedious to use.
TL;DR
- Unhook is a free browser extension that removes distracting elements from YouTube.
- Features include hiding the homepage feed, video sidebar recommendations, Shorts, comments, and auto-play.
- Users can customize which elements to hide, allowing for a personalized YouTube experience.
- The extension is available for Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge on desktops, and Firefox on Android.
- The main drawback is reduced discovery of new channels and content due to the removal of recommendations.
