Vaterpolo reprezentacija Srbije izborila je plasman u finale Evropskog prvenstva u Beogradu, pošto je u polufinalu savladala selekciju Italije rezultatom 17:13 (5:3, 4:4, 6:3, 2:3) i tako ostala u borbi za devetu evropsku titulu u istoriji.
