Vrelo springs below Tara and is the shortest river in Europe, here's how long it is
International Rivers Day is being celebrated today, and Serbia has a jewel to be proud of. On the right bank of the Drina, at the foot of Vidojeva pećina in the village of Perućac, the Vrelo river springs, which, due to its short course, is one of the shortest in all of Europe. It is only 365 meters long, and precisely because of this, it is also called the Year River, as it has as many meters as there are days in a year. Besides being known as the shortest, many legends and beliefs are associated with this river.
