Centuries of Oblivion for a 'Knot'
In the Easter edition of 'Politika' from May 1, 1926, the one-act comedy by Branislav Nušić titled 'Čvor' was published and subsequently forgotten. Specifically, since then, it has not been reprinted nor has it been included among similar one-act plays and short scenes in any of the previous editions of Nušić's collected works. Meyerhold's phenomenon is a true paradox. He wants to abolish professional actors, yet he creates one of the most professional theater troupes in history. He wants theater to be a weapon of revolution, and revolution consumes it. It's not always easy here, but Serbia has given me more than others. Taking a girl out for an evening drink at the airport once signified good taste and increased the chances that, as the day drew to a close, a hand would carelessly rest on a smooth girlish knee. No one at the time would have imagined that airports would become symbols of chaos, crowds, and inconvenience. In Ivana Mladenović's award-winning film 'Sorella di Clausura,' the main character persecutes a famous musician, convinced that with him she will gain love, wealth, and fame, and this daydreaming helps her survive in a grim, difficult everyday life.
