Spring was not late this year, May had long since arrived, and the lily of the valley had already turned green. However, this St. George's Day, the flowering harbinger of spring humbly bowed its fragrant petals under a heavy tear because of the news, as eagerly awaited as it was questionable, broadcast at dusk on May 6th. The Almighty ordained that on St. George's Day, which Crvena zvezda celebrates as its club patron saint, it would embrace one of its red-and-white icons, Vladimir Cvetković (84) and thus, without a final "goodbye", bestow the aura of eternity upon the earthly being most responsible for Zvezda's heavenly ascent.
