Hail 'Took' 450,000 Euros: Storm Devastated the Neretva Valley, 150 Tons of Strawberries Destroyed Before Harvest

Strawberry harvesting began about ten days earlier than in previous years in the Neretva valley. They are being harvested from an area of 35 hectares, and about 600 tons of strawberries will be picked. The harvest would certainly have been larger if a part of the area where strawberries are produced had not been hit by hail and suffered enormous damage. Neretva strawberries are the first to come to market. This is happening just as resellers across Croatia are selling imported strawberries as domestic ones, writes HRT.
