New benefit amounts from April

- New, increased child benefit amounts and income thresholds effective April 1st in Serbia.
- Income threshold per household member raised to 18,000 dinars from the previous 13,247 dinars.
- Single-parent families benefit from a 30% higher threshold (23,400 dinars).
- Families with children with developmental disabilities or disabilities have their threshold increased by 20% (21,600 dinars).
- Base child benefit amount is now 4,415.83 dinars.
- Single-parent families receive a 30% higher benefit (5,740.56 dinars).
- Families with children with disabilities receive a benefit increased by 50% (6,623.76 dinars).
- Benefits can be increased by up to 80% in cases meeting multiple criteria (7,948.49 dinars).
- Benefit amounts are adjusted twice annually, on January 1st and July 1st.
- The Serbian government adopted the new regulations on March 26th.
- In January 2024, 81,447 beneficiaries (162,251 children) received child benefits.
- In February 2024, 80,173 beneficiaries (159,674 children) received child benefits.
