TL;DR
- Experts suggest MOL's acquisition of a 56.15% stake in NIS for 900 million to 1 billion euros is below market value.
- The total valuation for 100% of NIS could be around 2 billion euros, lower than market expectations of 2 to 3 billion euros.
- Factors like a forced sale and OFAC sanctions may have contributed to the lower price, benefiting MOL.
- Serbia is expected to buy an additional 5% stake from MOL at a similar price, estimated at 90-100 million euros.
- One expert estimated the Russian stake should be worth 1.5 to 1.6 billion euros based on book value and investments.
