Aurora borealis, poznata i kao polarna svetlost, jedan je od najspektakularnijih prirodnih fenomena na Zemlji. Najčešće se povezuje s područjima blizu Arktika, poput Norveške, Islanda ili Finske, ali u posebnim okolnostima može se videti i znatno južnije, pa tako i iz Hrvatske.
