We Asked Belgrade Residents if They Are For a BAN ON SOCIAL NETWORKS FOR THOSE UNDER 18: Here Are Their Answers
Scenes of violence, nudity, death, illness, murder, robbery... Young people are CONSTANTLY exposed to all of this on social networks. Recently, the European Union held a meeting where the main question was whether children should have their access to social networks restricted and age verification introduced. This was precisely the reason for us to conduct a survey and ask the residents of Belgrade what they think about this idea, and we asked them exactly that - 'Should social networks be banned for people under 18 years of age?'

TL;DR
- The EU recently discussed restricting social media access for minors and implementing age verification.
- Exposure of young people to violence, nudity, death, and crime on social media is a major concern.
- Opinions among Belgrade residents surveyed are divided on banning social media for those under 18.
- Several countries, including France, the UK, and Germany, are already attempting to limit minors' access to social media.
- The European Commission is developing an application for age verification using personal documents and facial recognition technology.
- The goal of the EU meeting was to enhance child safety online and limit children's access to social media platforms.
- Some suggest a ban for much younger children, while others believe a complete ban for under 18s is too extreme.
