What do the billionaires of the Serbian economy deal with most?

As the latest financial reports are processed and preliminary calculations of the Serbian economy's business operations in 2025 are compiled (companies with business years different from the calendar year comply with differently prescribed deadlines, and these are mainly a smaller number of foreign representative offices), we will take a brief look at the domestic companies that achieved the highest revenues in 2024.

What do the billionaires of the Serbian economy deal with most?

TL;DR

  • The Serbian economy is highly concentrated, with the top 100 companies accounting for approximately 28.6% of total industry revenue.
  • Sectors like energy, trade, mining, and telecommunications dominate in terms of absolute turnover.
  • High revenue does not necessarily mean high profitability; margins differ significantly between sectors.
  • Mining and telecommunications generally offer higher profitability compared to energy and trade due to cost structures and market strength.
  • Companies with annual revenues exceeding one billion dinars (approximately 8.5 million euros) represent 2.923 businesses and generated 77.9% of all domestic company revenue.
  • The easiest sectors to achieve extremely high revenue in Serbia are trade, computing, construction, energy, and mining, but mining offers the highest return on revenue.
