Prema najnovijim tromesečnim podacima Evropske komisije, Albanija se, uprkos smanjenju u poslednjim godinama, pozicionira među zemljama sa najvišim nivoom javnog duga u odnosu na bruto domaći proizvod (BDP) u regionu Zapadnog Balkana, odmah iza Crne Gore.
