Reconstruction of Stevan Hristić's Opera 'Suton' Completed
The complete reconstruction of Stevan Hristić's (1885-1958) opera 'Suton', including its ballet divertissement which was considered lost for over half a century, has finally been completed after a decade and a half of expert teamwork, initiated by musicologist Branka Radović. A publication comprising three volumes has been released to mark this occasion: the first volume contains the opera's score, the second the ballet divertissement, and the third a piano reduction of the opera. The editors of this edition are Dr. Ivana Medić, president of the Musicological Society of Serbia and research advisor at the Institute of Musicology SASA (who are also the publishers), and Mirko Jeremić, a musicologist. The notators for this publication were composers Tamara Knežević and Marko Dulić for the first and second volumes, and Miodrag Janoski for the third.
