TL;DR
- Zlatibor is portrayed as having shifted from a symbol of natural beauty and traditional life to a concrete, urbanized resort.
- The author criticizes the modern Zlatibor as a place of excessive spending, status symbols, and superficiality, likening it to a 'Budva on the mountain'.
- Construction and commercialization have overshadowed the natural landscape, with buildings of up to fourteen floors dominating the scenery.
- Skiing infrastructure is neglected, while prices for basic amenities like coffee and meals are exorbitantly high.
- The article suggests that Zlatibor has become a playground for the nouveau riche, a backdrop for social media posts, and a place for laundering money, with heavy machinery relentlessly altering the landscape.
