- The system activates above 50 km/h, flashing during hard braking and staying on when stopped.
- It will also automatically activate hazard lights and turn signals during sudden stops.
- This regulation applies only to new vehicles; existing cars are not required to be retrofitted.
- Vehicles without this feature will not receive EU homologation after the specified date.
- The measure is part of the EU's General Vehicle Safety Regulation (EU 2019/2144) to enhance road safety.
