SRCE: Director Živković continues to collapse EPS with the help of the authorities

The Serbia Center party (SRCE) announced today that the director of Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) Dušan Živković continues to undermine the public enterprise with undiminished intensity, but claims that his attempts to hide it from the public are not succeeding. "On the night of February 20/21, a major accident occurred at the Tamnava Zapad mine where a conveyor belt on an excavator caught fire, and the drum and belt on the system burned out. What is the direct damage caused in this case? What is the indirect damage due to the downtime of this system which will no longer be engaged in coal production for a longer period and which has been in deficit for years anyway? And which will likely be incomparably greater than the direct damage due to the damage to the belt and excavator," said the SRCE party's Departmental Committee for Energy, according to the announcement.

SRCE: Director Živković continues to collapse EPS with the help of the authorities

TL;DR

  • SRCE accuses EPS director Dušan Živković of intentionally hiding a major accident at the Tamnava Zapad mine.
  • The accident involved a conveyor belt and excavator fire, causing significant direct and indirect damage.
  • SRCE claims Živković is fabricating 'fairy tales' of success while EPS faces record electricity and coal imports.
  • The party alleges that key personnel are leaving due to pressure, and new, qualified staff are not being hired.
  • SRCE suggests that coal production systems might switch from 24-hour to 12-hour operation.
