CHAOS! Popular resorts and cities underwater: The sea flooded like a TSUNAMI, everyone in disbelief, the footage is incredible
Most of Greece has been hit by strong southern winds and high sea waves. A strong cyclone from the Adriatic, moving across our area further northeast towards Eastern Europe, brought pronounced southern currents and stormy southern winds, and in combination with low atmospheric pressure, all this led to a rise in the level of the Aegean Sea and flooding of coasts in the wider Thessaloniki area.

TL;DR
- A powerful cyclone caused strong southern winds and high waves, leading to significant flooding along the coasts of Greece, particularly in the Thessaloniki area.
- Popular tourist destinations such as Paralía, Olympic Beach, and parts of Halkidiki were heavily impacted, with extensive damage to coastal areas, roads, and infrastructure.
- Heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers caused landslides and blocked roads with water, mud, and stones, leading to traffic disruptions.
- Desert sand from the Sahara was also carried into parts of Greece by the southern currents.
- Hurricane-force winds of up to 120 km/h were recorded in southern Greece and Crete.
- Another cyclone is expected, bringing more heavy rain, thunderstorms, floods, and high waves.
